The purple pansy orchid – (diuris longifolia)

Spring is a spctacular time of the year. The colours abound, with blossom, flowers…and wildflowers. Balingup’s Racecourse Flora Reserve is recognised as a biodiversity hotspot with many delicate wildflowers to be found. We’d been told that our 25 acre hilltop forest was also home to wildflowers and recently we took a stroll through our bush to see what we could find. It does take a bit of searching, as these delicate gems are tiny, but there are plenty to be found, and it’s worth the effort. They are spectcular. Here’s just a few. Enjoy!
