‘Top Deck’, aptly named after the two toned Cadbury chocolate block, comes to us from Mullalyup . . . a beautiful small hamlet just a few km’s north of Balingup.
Llama’s have an interesting history and are kept for many purposes throughout the world. However, two year old ‘Top Deck’ has spent his days as part of a flock of pet llama’s who wander a paddock in a beautiful grassy valley. We’ve been told that llamas make excellent livestock guardians, protecting herds against wild dog and fox attacks. Highly intelligent, llamas can distinguish between possible and imminent threats. Llamas are curious, generally calm, and can appear aloof.
Top Deck stands about 160cm high with a wonderfully noble appearance. His fleece feels divine and his large, brown eyes look at you gently and inquisitively. He’s happy to eat the grass and feast on chestnuts . . . but he does love his gourmet llama mix which looks and smells good enough to serve up on any posh breakfast table!
So, . . . ‘Top Deck’ joins our little menagerie of pets. He’s bunking in with ‘Spics and Specs’, our pet sheep and all seems harmonious!
