Take a walk!

Calling all bushwalking enthusiasts!!

Join us on Sunday 1st Nov on the Bibbulmun Track to celebrate the launch of Australia’s first International Friendship Trail. The Friendship Trail twins the section between Balingup to Donnelly River Village on the Bibbulmun Track with the Bruce Trail in Canada.

Book a cottage for the weekend . . . and we’ll throw in a complimentary Gourmet Breakfast Hamper to keep you ‘well fuelled’. Grab your walking boots . . . and come and enjoy some spectacular spring bushwalks. There’s still plenty of wildflowers to see.

The Friendship Ceremony is being held on Sun 1st Nov at 9.30am at Karri Gully Picnic Area just near Balingup. The ceremony will include the unveiling of the friendship sign and an optional short walk along the Bibbulmun Track from Karri Gully to Gregory Brook campsite (8km return). Members, volunteers and the general public are invited to help celebrate the Bibbulmun Track’s first International Friendship Trail.

The Friendship Trails project is an initiative of The World Trails Network. Friendship Trails are similar to twin towns, whereby trails in different countries team up in the name of partnership, mutual publicity and international cooperation.

The Bruce Trail is Canada’s oldest and longest marked footpath. The 890km long Bruce Trail spans incredibly varied and beautiful landscapes through Canada’s most densely populated region, from rolling hills to spectacular vistas and rugged coastlines. . . . another walk to add to your ‘bucket list’!
