Each year in the lead up to the much anticipated Small Farm Field Day, a lively set of larger-than-life scarecrows strut their stuff on the South West Hwy in Balingup.
This year the scarecrows have had a costume change and they look just stunning! Lois Black, one of our fabulously creative local artists sought inspiration and chose a theme from the Balkans region. The clothing incorporates intricate embroidery, lively colours and a massive dollop of artistic flair.
Better still, Lois also teaches art at Balingup Primary School, so Mia and some of the older students were able to work with Lois in putting finishing touches on the new outfits. You could easily spend a lazy hour wandering up and down the street just admiring the costumes!
