This weekend is a ‘garden lovers paradise’ in and around Balingup! And you’re in luck because we’ve had a weekend cancellation for Kimba’s Cottage!!

The Spring Gala is being held at in Balingup – full details below. A fabulous chance to get up close and personal with Neville Passmore of Garden Gurus fame!!

Plus you can wander the beautiful Blackwood River Valley visiting open gardens as part of the Festival of Gardens – Main Event – Thursday 31 October to Sunday 3 November, 2013. There are 21 unique gardens open for the Festival with locations throughout the scenic, inland south west of Western Australia including Balingup, Bridgetown, Donnybrook, Manjimup, Nannup and Pemberton. In addition to gardens opening, there will be guided morning walks and evening sundowners with a garden theme over the Festival days, so that visitors and local people can enjoy a garden-inspired holiday.

And . . . if you can squeeze another thing in . . . the plentiful winter rains have brought out the wildflowers. The Balingup Racecourse Flora Reserve is in full spring bloom. A couple of guests this weekend spotted 40 different native varies in bloom – several orchids they couldn’t event name!!!
